A Song Away From You

In the Gloom of Night, from under the TV, behind the pool table, next to the Juke Box, we see the Battle for attention commence, between the Saloon Singer and the diversions set in place to stay this courier from the swift completion of his appointed rounds. I’ve never been a ‘Dig Me’ kind of entertainer. I hope you take something from my show or at least enjoy the 90 minute respite from our impending doom, but if you don’t it’s OK. So long as nobody gets hurt and the Yankees win. I hold in high regard, the way patrons choose to disburse disposable income. I am honored when someone’s recreational plans include listening to an aging folkie, in the twilight of a mediocre career, sing other people music. Wanderlust often takes me to Nashville, where I discovered songs that made me laugh, cry and made me feel something I that can’t name. I wanted to share those feelings and the poetry of these enchanting illusionists on a midsummer night in an intimate venue where neither would get lost. We recorded the evening so that feeling could always be Just a Song Away.
